Israel-Palestine Mega Fact Check!

CLAIM: The IDF killed some of their own citizens and soldiers on October 7th 2023.

RATING: True

Although Hamas and others who broke through the Gaza barrier on that date are presumed to have killed the majority of Israelis and foreign nationals, one must recognize that a certain number were in fact killed by Israeli fire.

As in any chaotic wartime situation, part of these deaths were due to so-called “friendly fire”—IDF bullets, tank shells, and mortars accidentally killing their own citizens or soldiers.

But in some cases, the IDF appears to have also killed Israelis intentionally. According to several investigators, the IDF activated its Hannibal Directive , which permitted their soldiers to intentionally kill their own civilians and fellow soldiers in order to prevent them from being taken hostage. Several tank operators have acknowledged firing on targets containing Israeli civilians, including the Cohen house, a police station, and at least two pickup trucks whose beds were loaded with passengers. IDF helicopter pilots have fired on the Nova music festival crowds as well as launching hellfire missiles at hundreds of vehicles potentially heading towards Gaza, many of which likely held Israeli hostages.

The IDF has acknowledged killing an undisclosed number of its own on October 7th, but, as YNet reports, “it would not be morally sound to investigate these incidents due to the immense and complex quantity of them that took place”.

If Israel had nothing to hide about the events of October 7th, why would Israel repeatedly block the UN from carrying out an independent investigation? “The [UN] Commission considers that Israel is obstructing its investigations into events on and since 7 October 2023, both in Israel and in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” And why would Netanyahu repeatedly prevent an independent Israeli State Commission of Inquiry into October 7th, and go so far as to attempt to make such an inquiry illegal

Keep trying to invent history. The palis didn’t exist until the mid 1960s.
One other fun fact – every group, every political organization, and every government that has ever tried to destroy the Jews has been destroyed. Fun fact #2 Israel has never been stronger.
