This claim implies that Israel is willing to share the historic land of Palestine, but not the Palestinians.
However, this begs the question: if Israel is so intent on sharing the land with the Palestinians, why are Israel and the US nearly the only countries to vote against the creation of the State of Palestine in the United Nations each year since 1997 while approximately 150 countries (or 90%) vote in favour? More UN member states have voted for the creation of Palestine than for the creation of Israel, yet Israel steadfastly refuses to allow the creation of the state of Palestine. If Israel is so intent on sharing the land, why does it keep annexing more land in the West Bank and building illegal settlements there, which the United Nations and many other international organizations deem illegal ever since UN resolution 446 over 45 years ago?
If Israel is so intent on sharing the land, why does the Likud—the political party currently in power and the one most often in power since 1977—clearly state in its guiding principles that it has no interest whatsoever in sharing any part of the region of Palestine with non-Jews? According to their guiding principles, “The Jewish people have an exclusive and inalienable right to all parts of the Land of Israel […] the Galilee, the Negev, the Golan and Judea and Samaria [the West Bank].”
Based on these and other observations, many analysts have reasonably concluded that Israel doesn’t actually want to share the land with Palestinians.
