CLAIM: In 2005, Israel generously gave back land to Palestinians by pulling out of Gaza.

It is true that Israel pulled its settlers and soldiers out of Gaza in 2005, thus giving back some of the land it had taken from the Gazans. But, that very same year, Israel annexed an even larger amount of land in the West Bank such that, overall, Israel actually took more land from Palestinians in 2005 than it gave back.
Likewise, while Israel did pull out around 8,000 settlers from Gaza in 2005, it also moved around 12,000 settlers to the West Bank in the same year. Thus, it could be said that rather than removing settlers from Palestine, Israel merely redeployed its settlers to a different part of Palestine.
