CLAIM: Jews lived in ancient Israel 3,000 years ago and have continuously maintained a presence in that area. They are therefore the rightful owners of the land.
It is true that roughly 3,000 years ago there was an ancient kingdom of Israel, and that there have been Jews (among others) living in that region ever since.
However, if someone knocked on your door and told you that their ancestors lived in your town 3,000 years ago, with some of their descendants having “maintained a presence” in your town, would you be okay with them kicking you out? I don’t think so! I think you’d call the police.
Just because a particular ethnic group’s ancestors inhabited a place 3,000 years ago does not make them the “forever” owners of said place. There is nothing in international law that supports this kind of assertion. If there was such a law, it would mean that you or I could, at any time, return to any of our ancient ancestor’s lands from 3,000 years ago and kick out the current owners. Needless to say, if everyone did this it would lead to total anarchy. Such a law does not exist (except in the minds of those that postulate this argument).
This argument also glosses over the fact that numerous other kingdoms and peoples have inhabited the Holy Land, as illustrated by this summary chart:

As illustrated, prior to 1948, this land has been occupied by many different peoples and kingdoms in the past 4,000 years, only one of which was the ancient kingdom of Israel (labelled “Philistine and Israelite” in the chart).
It is therefore illogical to reason that, since Jews have had a kingdom at some point in the region of Palestine, Jews alone hold an eternal monopoly over the region.
The argument that Jews maintained a presence in this land, similarly overlooks the fact that Arabs have also maintained a presence in the land for thousands of years, with some of their ancestors—the Canaanites—predating even the Jews’ oldest known ancestors. Does that automatically make them the rightful and exclusive owners of the entire land? No.
One reply on “Israel-Palestine Mega Fact Check!”
Keep trying to invent history. The palis didn’t exist until the mid 1960s.
One other fun fact – every group, every political organization, and every government that has ever tried to destroy the Jews has been destroyed. Fun fact #2 Israel has never been stronger.
