Israel-Palestine Mega Fact Check!

CLAIM: Putting Gaza under siege—cutting off their food, water, and electricity—is acceptable under international law.

RATING: False

Some will argue that placing Gaza under siege—by cutting off their food, water, and electricity—is acceptable since sieges have been part of many wars throughout history.

Will it’s true that deadly sieges were common in ancient warfare, in the wake of World War II the nations of the world decided that modern warfare should strive to be more humane. Since the 1949 Geneva Conventions were ratified, placing the civilians of a city or state under siege is considered a war crime unless civilians are allowed to safely evacuate. However, sieges cannot be used to force civilians to permanently leave an area, so any such evacuation must be temporary.

Keep trying to invent history. The palis didn’t exist until the mid 1960s.
One other fun fact – every group, every political organization, and every government that has ever tried to destroy the Jews has been destroyed. Fun fact #2 Israel has never been stronger.
